Cool New Guy from Kansas

Hello,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I have a 61' Cub Cadet Original I've owned over 20 yrs. I gave it a new restore 7 yrs ago. Thee Grandson burned up my new rebuilt Starter Generator but other then that she runs Great!! (smokes when backing off the throttle!!) I built the 3 point and have a sears disc and plow, original cub spring tooth harrow, box blade and dozer blade not sure of what make they are. I painted it school bus yellow (faded now looks close to correct color), and white! It had sat last two years. dragged her out and cleaned carb and put new gas in it and fired on 2nd pull! I love my IH Cub Cadet!!! cool site lots of info!!!

You only need two things in life...duct tape and WD-40

If it's stuck and needs loosening, use the WD-40.

If it's loose and it's suppose to be stuck, use the duct tape.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
