Default IH CC 122 Serial number... ?

So, I've looked in the two places on my 122 where the serial number tag is supposed to be and it's not there. In the manual it shows a flat spot molded into the right side of the rear of the tranny as one of them, there's no flat spot there. Also, they show there should be a tag riveted to the flat spot at the top of the rear of the tranny, there's no tag and no rivet holes, either. Now I'm stumped. I read somewhere that the number is usually stamped into the reduction housing... Does anyone know if that's the right or left side, and would I need to remove the fenders and seat assembly to read it? I really want to find out when it was built, also to keep the number in our records.

Default Eureka!!!

YESSssss! I think,... I found the spot just forward of the right rear axleshaft as shown in your second photo. THANK YOU! For the help! However, there are two numbers there; one on the lower half reads 133001, the one on the upper half reads 133621. The lower one is die stamped deep and the upper one is very shallow and a bit faint. But, I now have numbers! Thanks again!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
