Default 1100 issues

A relative of mine has a 1978 cub cadet ih 1100 with the 44a deck and it desperately needs a new deck spindle and double pulley for the center blade as the previous owner left some nuts loose causing the spindle shaft to have terribly uneven wear and a cracked bearing which led to the bottom of the double pulley being worn so thin that it split and destroyed the belt. Is there anywhere I can get new parts for this? If it was a 3 wheeler or 4 wheeler, I would already have the parts tracked down but it's been a long time since I dug into a garden tractor and I want to try and get this fixed with the correct parts the 1st time.

The first place to go is the area above the forum. Click on the "Cub Cadet Parts and Service look-up" banner. You will then go to "Diagrams" area. There you type in the model number. Go to attachments and find the deck you have. You should be able to get the part numbers there.

Lastly, go to the other links above Cub Cadet parts and service look-up, those are our sponsors and they will have a lot of what you need. Some new, some used. Lets know how it goes.

Be sure to click on the block letter "CUB CADET" on the bottom and not the script one on top for the older IH Cubs.

Hard to believe someone just kept mowing with that pulley making the racket it must have made to lathe itself down like that.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
