Default 1450 Snowblower Attachment

I want to buy a snow blower for my 1450. A cub cadet manual I found online lists a unit that is intended for the QuietLine series as a 45" Snow Thrower Attachment Model #364.

I guy nearby is selling a Snow Blower Attachment with model number QA-42A along with a pretty beat up 1450 and mower deck for $250. He says the blower came with the tractor but he never tried it. It looks to be in very decent condition.

Can someone tell me if it'll fit and work correctly with my 1450?

The 190-364 Snow Blower was NOT intended for the Quietline Series of tractors.

The QA-42A Snow Thrower will work just fine.

I have been looking a snow blower for my 1450 as well and ran across a site that this info:

The QA36A, and QA42A will fit the WF/QL series tractors.

The QA36 and QA42 WILL NOT FIT the WF/QL series tractors without some re-work.

To breakdown the model numbers
QA= Quick Attach
36 or 42= width of the housing
A= adjustable

The QA36 and QA42 will fit the Narrow Frame tractors with quick attach brackets ONLY. The QA36A and QA42A will fit BOTH the NF and WF tractors because the mounting bracket is adjustable to accommodate the width of the tractor's frame.

The X82 series tractors can use the same single stage throwers as the WF/QL tractors, however you must change the drive pulley to a 5/8" wide pulley....then the thrower becomes a QA36B, or a QA42B

If you take a look on Cub Cadet E site in the attachments part list for the QL (800-1650) you will find the 190-364-100 Two Stage 45" Blower as a option for QL . You just need to use the front PTO kit 418. As a matter of fact it's even write on the font page manual of that snow blower.

I'm looking for this "Rare" implements and his MTD version (195-364-100) for more then 2 years now! What I'm missing here Roland?

Care to explain please.

The 190-364 Snow Blower was built by CCC, well after the sale of Cub Cadet by IH to CCC. Thus, it was not an IH product.

As I stated, the 190-364 was not originally "intended" for the QL series because it didn't exist at the time this tractor series were made.

I was NOT aware for the retro-fit kit 190-418 that would allow this Blower to retro fit back to the Q/L series. Learned something today.

I'm glad if anyone learn something today! That was the easy part, but I have to admit your previous statement made me question all the research I have done yet. It's not everyday you teach a old monkey new trick!

Here the hard part: Finding a 190-364-100 with a 418 PTO kit.... I think the best option is reengineering one like Tim DeLooza did.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
