New Here But Not to Cadets
Good morning all, I am glad I found this site as it is nice to know there is something dedicated to Cadets. I spent 5 years as a salesman for a Case-IH dealership that was/is a large Cadet dealer, and has been since the creation of the company. Learned to love and appreciate the Cadet line from its beginning to current.
I currently have an '84 Cadet 782 with 44" deck. I never put the deck back on after going through the machine piece by piece. So, my just-turned 4 yr old has claimed that machine was his since he was able to talk. I have not used it except to give him tractor rides around the block and pull his sled during the winter. Oh yeah, did I mention we have put 150 hrs on it just doing those two things? LOL Needless to say, I have got an outdoors boy on my hand. Still have a Cadet SRC621 push mower too. IMO, its the best push mower ever made, but just my opinion. I have owned (and loved) a Cadet 85 rear engine rider (fiberglass body) but lost my storage place so I had to sell it. I now have a Cadet 80 Hyrdostat tractor that I am enjoying and am going through. This may stay around to use because I don't get to enjoy my time push mowing any longer since I have a 4 yr old, 15 month old, and one in the oven. haha Time is of the essence...lol...plus I have someone who thinks he needs to help. For safety reasons, he is gonna be outside when I am mowing, its gonna be on my lap. I am posting a "information needed/help wanted" post about the 80 on another thread in case anyone can help. I appreciate your time reading and looking and look forward to spending plenty of time on here and making some good friends.

 Great intro   Please keep your son inside when you mow. My son almost 7 was the same way but still enjoys having daddy wave at him when he's watching me thru the window. It pains me to hear about kids getting hurt by a mower. It is the reason they make the safety backup switches. I enjoy taking my son for caboose rides with my cub but those blades are not to mess with.Once again welcome to the site glad to have you!

Welcome. Thanks for sharing your Cub Cadet story.
I agree with Methos - it would be better to mow with the little ones inside and safe. I hear too many accidents involving young children and mowers. Again, welcome.

in complete agreement on the one person cutting rule, being older i can remember riding on the tractor and playing out side while grass was being cut. now i see that is a very bad thing,have seen projectiles come out of the deck that could hurt or kill anything in there path and i have seen people carrying there kids while cutting grass. please do not do this, accidents waiting to happen and no one wants to see that.
like i said i am a little older and by no means a safe person, but lets just use a little common sense here

Ok guys, after reading what I wrote, I understand the reprimands and I would too. Please let me rephrase by saying my son has never been outside while I have been mowing and my hope is that he never will be. My apologies for sounding like such a terrible father.
