450 blower adjustments
So I got to try out the blower tonight on the 982 after getting DUMPED on today. I didn't get the measuring tape out, but we have at least 12" to 16" of on the ground depending on where you are and how much the wind got ahold of it. Overall, it worked decent. 982 ran well too. BUT....
iphone transfer 1477.jpg Its not dropping all the way to the ground? I had new lift links arms made for it today so I have long enough ones. I made them 13" long with the single hole and slotted hole 1/2" from the ends. I also installed the carriage extension brackets to drop it down because its on a Super. Its leaving about 2" of snow most of the time making it VERY difficult to get around, tractor is spinning a lot in the snow. iphone transfer 1482.jpg Any suggestions?? Reading the manual on page 14 it refers to the pivot link, have I got this hooked up wrong and that's not allowing it to drop down all the way? iphone transfer 1470.jpg iphone transfer 1471.jpg

Something about that don't look right. I cant put my finger on it thoough. This might be a stupid question, but how are the slider shoes adjusted? The only time my 2082 don't clean up, is when you go over a grade and then it wont hang low enough.

Shoes are set up to keep the cutting edge about 1/2" or a little bit more off the ground. I had another picture of the cutting edge as it sat on the garage floor, but I see it didn't turn out worth a darn. Don't think I have an issue of it over centering, the slots in the lift arms are not very long. I really don't have any place to have the blower "drop off" that would cause it to go over center. Had a guy show me last year what it can do, don't think I am in that situation here???
It's got me! I am sure it is something stupid I am doing.

Your upper links also need to be in the lower holes to match the drop of the lower links.

Well, that pretty much did it! It was the arms needing to be moved to the lower holes. Makes a HUGE difference!
Thanks guys!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
