Throttle Knob Replacement for 147

The plastic t-handle knob on the throttle lever on my 147 deteriorated and broke off. I made a replacement. The lever end of the "bolt" is drilled through to accommodate the thin end of the metal throttle lever, and slotted to fit over the wider portion of the lever. the bottom nut clamps the slotted end to the throttle lever. I had a hollow metal ball in my junk box and I drilled and tapped it to take the threaded rod. The top nut just backs up the few threads in the ball.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
