Piggy back cubs
I saw some pictures on line of a farmall m with the front axle removed and a hitch in its place to hook it to a farmall 400. The operator runs both tractors from the front tractor. After looking around I see several other pictures of similar set ups hooking two tractors together. I got to thinking that it would be cool to do this with a pair of Cubs. Since I have several hydro wide frames in my bone yard I thought I'd use a pair of 129s I have laying around. I have figured out how I want to hook them together and how to make a new throttle control for the back tractor. The only thing I can't figure out is how to control the hydrostatic on the back tractor? Does anyone have any good ideas? Has anyone tried this before? Do you think this would work or is this a dumb idea?

I've seen those arrangements, too.
I think you could link the two hydro control plates with a flexible shaft--similar to a choke or throttle cable, only more robust, perhaps an outboard motor steering cable, so that when you move the front one, the rear tractor's plate moves in unison.

The combined Cubs are great for a show piece,,, but,
I have a JD 650 that cost less than two beat up used Cub Cadets ,, and it will out pull three Cub Cadets hooked together,,,  So, do you want to show, or do you want to "GO!",,,

The tandem Cubs would be cool for shows and plow days but cumbersome to use for anything else. Why not build a triple engine Cub. Saw this a couple years ago at a local show.

Thank God, and many gallons of spilled blood from it's defenders. Sometimes our highly paid six fingered monitors allow a mongrel to rear it's pretty head. And I must admit, sometimes I lust in my heart for pretty puppy dawgs that are not mine
