New to this site, from PA
Well after looking around for a while I finally registered, I've worked on tractors from the time I was a kid, my family was a Massey and Kubota dealer and Deere
I've done restoration work on all kinds of equipment. But the cub cadet was always a little bit special to me because that was was the first tractor that I played with at 10 years old, it was a 104. I finally found a really nice one in Ohio a couple of weeks ago it's nearly new, I've also got a 147 that's really clean except that it needs a new crankshaft the PTO bearing came loose and ruined the end of the crank. I am doing a nut and bolt restoration on it. I'm using Base coat clear coat and Its really turning out nice. |

It's all original paint and all I bought it from a guy who bought it from the original owners estate. According to him, the original owner had a small yard in Mechanicsburg, Ohio. The pictures that I have of the 147, will not upload. Its in a million pieces right now, I'm hoping to get it back together in a few weeks

I've just finished painting my 106 today now its reassembly time, this is also a very well maintained tractor that I found wasn't going to restore it but I had to replace the wiring harness and one thing led to another now it's a full blown rebuild.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
