Default Duals, factory?

Were the IH dual wheel spacers for IH Cub Cadets like my 70 a factory option? I didn’t think they were but just realized several for sale are OEM IH Cub Cadet products. I want to put duals on my 70 after restoring it I think.

As of 1972 they were. I’m not sure when they started offering them, but it seems like I see more O, 70, and 100’s with duals then any other Cubs.

Thanks for the knowledge guys. I definitely agree most cubs with duals are Os, 70s, and 100s. The adapter sure are expensive, at least $550 on eBay. I’ll buy them one day, hopefully I can find cheaper.

Aaron Makes some Great Stuff
I have one of His aftermarket 3-point Hitches On My Cub Cadet 2182
I also Invested In 2 of His 4-hole dual tabs without ears for My Cub Cadet 106 and 1450 so Now I have a little More adjustment with My Brinly adapter, I need to add one to My 70. I also have a front weight bracket On MY 2182 and a rear receiver hitch for the 2182 as well. I really like the quality he puts Into His Products

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
