Default Cheap Hytrans?

I'm getting ready to change the fluid and filter on the 782 and I have an unopened gallon of hytrans that's about 10yrs old and wanted to buy another gallon but the local cub dealer wants $25 a gallon. Anybody know where I can get a good deal on hytrans?

$25 a jug is about the average going rate. You can mix it with the other fluid, it won't hurt anything. If you don't want to mix it, just use the other stuff you have.

Just bought a 2 1/2 gal container at IH dealer here yesterday at the cost of 52.89 taxes included. 1 gal containers were 26.95 each less tax so I bought the larger size. The counter guy explained the larger the container the less per gallon it is. GO FIGURE!!

I buy it at the IH dealer.. usually about 45-50 bucks for 2.5 gal. I don't consider that too bad.. Local cub dealer only has it in quarts and it is WAAY expensive that way.

The way I see it good quality oil is cheap insurance!

And yes I realize different people use different oils and they all work.. I just like to use what came in it! Not trying to resurrect any kind of Hytran debate!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
