LTX1050VT with Kohler 24hp leaks oil
There is a puddle of oil on top of the drive pulley at the bottom of the engine. Can I assume that this is the lower crank seal? Could it be from another source? I don't think this would indicate bad rings or anything like that. Just a good old drippy leak falling out of the engine onto the pulley.
Is this a relatively easy repair? Not sure but the parts diagram seems to show a seal that is or the outside of the oil pan. Hmmmm. One other question. Is the LTX1050VT what they call the 1000 series?

As far as the oil leak, I always find it best to spend the time to trace it down and positively know where it is coming from. Better than "shot gunning" the engine with parts.
Yes, that model is considered a 1000 series tractor.

Pull the cooling shroud cover off and look for the highest location where there is oil residue.
Most common leaks are near the valve covers. Could also be near the oil fill dipstick if it has one. If the oil residue is lower, then it could be the sump gasket. Actually, you should also check the oil drain. A lot of times it is very loose from the factory. Might need to tighten it with a wrench.
