Graphite paint?
Getting my snow thrower ready and was thinking about graphite paint for the chute. Any recommendations on brand?
Thanks. |

Slip Plate is probably on the tip of most peoples tongue, my local farm store carries Van Sickle brand "EZ slide" never used the aerosol. I have a quart that has lasted for years, even applying multiple coats a little seems to go a long way. Follow directions on the can.
There may be other brands out there that are better.

Nothing is as slick as a shined metal surface. I let the snow wear all the paint off my chute. I store the snowblower/thrower inside and oil the bare metal in the off season. Just like a scoured plow... nothing better.

I've always had very good luck with spray silicone. Spray the chute and auger before you set off, never had anything stick.

I haven't tried, but I read PAM spray works, too! Steal a can from the wife's CUBboard and give it a try. I'm prepped for my first winter using the QA-36 on the 124 while the 125 will do the pushing (as she has for years).

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
