Default Hello, new member from New York.

Hello, My name is Paul and I like Cub Cadets...

I am located in Saugerties NY, along the Hudson River.

I started on a 70 in 1964 when I was about 4 or 5. I didn't actually use it much, but I did drive it the first day my dad brought it home.

I have a 147 that my dad bought new in '71. It is completely disassembled and almost ready to be painted.

I have a 127 that I bought to plow the driveway when I noticed that the 147 needed major work.

I also have a 125 that a neighbor had "stored" in the trees behind his house. It does run, but will need some work.

I have a #1 cart, #1 Tiller, CC42 snow thrower, 10" plow, and a 42" grader blade.

I also have a 1959 International Cub Loboy that now does most of the snow plowing.

We would love to see your pics and follow your restore on your 147. I think it's great that you have your dad's 147. You've got a nice line up hydro's.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
