Model # label location??
Help! I bought a new Cub TankSZ 60KW. I have looked all over, up , under, inside outside that mower and cannot find the Model/Serial# tag. Called the dealer, he said the model number is "SZ60KW."..duh. I cannot register it for warranty without these numbers. I paid a chunk of change for this zero turn, and want to protect that investment.
Anybody have any ideas? I looked at the official Cub site, the tag is supposed to be under the seat...the only tag under the seat is the tag for the seat , model and serial.... |

Model and serial number is prolly on the receipt you got from the dealer.

You could also take it back where you got it and ask them to locate the tag for you.
If they can't find it, then I would ask to exchange it for a machine that does have the tag or for a refund.

This is a Commercial Zero Turn SZ60 with a 27 hp KW engine. My sales receipt is pink, and handwritten, it is a cover all receipt for Case, Cub, Toro . My next step would be to call Cub and go through a lengthy process to arrive at the correct numbers. Thanks for all of the input, it is appreciated. |

My guess is that if the dealer can't give you the info your best bet is to call Cub. They should be able to track it with the engine serial number. They also should have records of what machines went to your dealer. Good luck and keep us posted.

Very interesting. I'm curious to see what you find out too. You'd think it would be right where they say it is.
Perhaps the label got left off.. Or maybe the seat was damaged during transport and they didn't move the tag to the new one.

Thanks for the input. I saw a video on YouTube that showed the tag on a different model zero turn under the deck cover..once I figure out how to lift it up, I will look there.
Beyond that, calling Cub tech for help. Thanks for your interest, and I will keep you posted.Who knows, maybe it will help someone else someday?? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
