Default Original with Mott Mower

Tomorrow after work I am going after this Original with Mott mower. Been sitting for 20 plus years according to the seller. How rare are these Mott mowers? It also has sleeve hitch with Brinly adapter. Let me know what you think....

That's awesome Martin. Any idea of the serial and if it's low? Good to see you getting those originals again, you are the Original mentor to some of us.

I am not sure of the serial # it dose not have collared spindles and I see a hole for the creeper...hopefully tomorrow I will find out. Thank you I really like the Originals unfortunately I had to sell some of my best O's but it wasn't the end of the world.

yes as rare as hens teeth,I had one,but yours is in better shape.
There is no s/g or coil,or oil bath?

I went to an auction sat. there was an O with a nice mower, hood was not bent, nice shape, deck had extra blades and it was a 61,I bid 100.00,they had a reserve of 500.00,or it would go to a museum.

As if Lew's comment wasn't gospel enough...... the Mott mowers are a rare, RARE find. If you get it, don't sell it..... no matter what.

Or keep the tractor and sell the mower and use the money for a few more tractors.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
