Default Starting issues on Cub Cadet 782D

I just bought a 782Dand it's the first time owning one. I bought it and the guy had the head off, so we put the head back on and got it ready to run. It won't run. We bled the fuel lines an injection pump and I have fuel, but it still won't run. Anybody have any ideas on how to get the thing running. Me an my Dad are about clueless to this cause we haven't messed with any diesel Cubs before.

Bleed the fuel lines while cranking the engine at the INJECTORS.

do you get any smoke ? are your glow plugs working? if so have you checked the glow plugs? also do you know why the previous owner took it apart?

I have smoke an the glow plugs work an we checked them he took it apart cause he said he heard they were valve slammers I put exhaust valves in an the intake was fine we think water went in no.1 cylinder cause the valve had rust but its all back together an has plenty of compression

is the shut off returning all the way? well there's only 3 things it needs. air, fuel and spark or in this case enough compression to ignite the fuel. I assume the air filters good? is the fuel any good? not contaminated with water? and I have to ask, did you use ether? not a good idea with glow plugs or intake heaters. that leaves you with compression? when you said it has good compression what are you comparing it to ? depending on the engine I've seen them range from 380 to 425 for a naturally aspirated engine at cranking speed.

The air filter is good it is brand new an the diesel fuel is good to no water or nothin like that. We don't have the air filter on it right now cause the previous owner took it off an we were more worried of gettin it runnin. I messed with it a little today an nothin I have good fuel to the injectors so my next guess would be to check the injectors to see if there good. If they are then I'm pretty well lost on this

You say you don't know anything about diesels, so I have some questions.

How do you "know" your getting good compression? Did you do a compression check? Or are you going by sound?
How do you "know" your glow plugs are working? Did you ohm them? Or pull them out and check them? How long are you cycling them?
Did you adjust the valves correctly?
Do you have the fuel injector lines on correctly? Are you sure? They can be crossed, I've done it.*
Is the pump in time?

*My bet, is this is the mistake.

I have checked everything else I know how to do that I'm just sayin I'm new to these kubota diesels on a cub an I never really fooled with one before. An how are the fuel lines supposed to be hooked up? I could have done that wrong. How are they suppose to be?
