1320 Losing Power
Good morning,
I am using my 1320 to mow this morning. It does not sound correctly and moving slow. It is cutting great. It worked great last year when I used it. I am seeing some light smoking at the exhaust. Here are three videos of the mower running. The choke cable is not working well and needs to be replaced. I believe this may be the issue. https://youtube.com/shorts/6uyvp0qVkaA?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/UxAz7B0_nPs?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/__wFHLX-ShQ?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/-aHqe-_w1YM?feature=share Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. |

It looks like a rusted choke cable. The choke is not moving when the cable is adjusted at the console. I did a manual adjustment and it is running good.
Does anyone know where to order a choke cable golf or a 1320? Thank you. |

I have one more question. The hydrostatic fluid reservoir looks low on fluid. I doubt it has been changed. What do I need to do to change the fluid and what fluid should go in the reservoir? It there a filter that needs replacing?
The 1320 moved a little slow Saturday but cut over an acre. The grass looks great. Thank you for your help!! |

Choke control is part number 746-3026. Still available from Cub Cadet or MTD.
The 1320 owner's manual states the hydrostatic transaxle is a sealed unit with no filter and not serviceable. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
