Arrow What's my 782 worth?

Well unfortunately due to some health issues I'm parting with my 782.
My dad bought it new in the 80s.
Nice all original but has a series 1 KT17 that threw a rod so the engine needs to be replaced.
It has the rear PTO set up for the 38" Tiller im selling with it.
I have the original owners manual and sales brochure.
44" deck
Also the 4 hubcaps.

I live in MN.

Thank you.

I just picked up a running 106 cub and a 682 that threw a rod for $450 if that helps. My 682 looks like the same condition as your 782. With your tiller and pto that helps alot. 300-500 id say in my opinion but i'm sure it varies with location. Goodluck.

FWIW:
I bought my IH built 782 nice shape 9+ years ago with 42" thrower and 50" deck.
It had a bullet holed kt series 1 like yours.
Gave $250 and thought it was about right.

Also bought a 782 CCC built with cab/blade/power steering & good mag 18 for $700 2 years ago.

With a good running engine & all accessories, yours might be worth your asking price.

just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions

That's not a rear PTO, it's a tiller gear box and is part of the tiller so if you sell the tiller separately it will need to be unbolted from the tractor. The blown engine severely hurts the value, with the tiller it's probably worth $350 tops.

Nice unit... too bad about the windowed KT 17... It would be a great tractor to repower with a magnum or V twin.. Unfortunately they don't bring what they used to... around here $250 to $350 with the blown engine..

Wish you were closer.. I'd be all over it.. I have a hankering for a red 82 series to do a repower and p/s conversion on!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
