dozer blade use?
I have a 42" Dozier blade on my 124 and plan on trying to use it to widen my driveway this summer. I will need to push out about a foot of dirt, 30' by 12'. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Good set of "Ag's" and some wheel weights are a good start.. If Ag's are out. tire chains will help also.. I moved and leveled 16yrds of heavy topsoil this last summer with my 682 and 42" blade...it was a blast. Truth be told I was able to push more weight with the cub than I could or ever did with my 4x4 quad.

To add to Jay's great advice..I would also make sure your blade is locked so it cant trip on you, and make sure you go...s....l..o...w at first. You will need to learn how your tractor and blade handle the soil or material your moving.
I have used my 127 with the factory turf tires, weights and chains with my 42" blade, and she will move a lot of soil or gravel have fun! Jeff (teet)

I leveled some land with my 1812 it was fun:biggrin2.gif: Just don't let the blade dig in to deep.

This is what I did with my 682,with my sons help of course. there was a big stump there before I used a backhoe to dig it out. could have used the backhoe to fill the hole but what fun would that have been.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
