Kohler KT 17, 1 Cylinder no working?
Hi,
few Years ago, i rebuildt the Kohler KT 17 S2 of my 782. Now, the Motor have 56 Engine Hours, after rebuilding on it. The Motor works now in my 1772, because the Diesel is in my 782. Few Weeks ago, i attach a Harley Davidson Coil to it, because the Aftermarket Coil was damaged. Today, i had to work with my 1772, but the Motor has not the full Power. Ignition is ok, the Plugs are sparking good. I disconnected the Spark Wires, first the left Side, than the right side. After disconnecting the right Wire, the Motor stops. I feel the Heads with the Hand, the right Cylinderhead was hot, but the left one was only a little bit warm. I think, the left Cylinder is not working, but what can be the Problem? mfg Georg

I would recommend starting off with a compression test.

First,
swap plugs to other side and see if the dead cylinder follows the plug. If so, bad plug. Second. Since both plugs fire @ the same time,( wasted spark design) swap the plug wires and see if the dead cylinder comes to life. If it does, you have a coil problem. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
