Default 7254 mower deck troubles
i have a compact 7254 with the 54 mower deck the problem i have with this is the shear pins keep shearing off on the deck drive shaft and sometimes it pulls completely apart it seems everything is hooked up correctly. has anyone else every had this problem any suggestions on what to do?

Never knew the.compacts could have a 54 inch deck. Interesting. My brother has a compact with the 401 60 inch deck.

You need to check each spindle and idler to ensure they turn freely. I believe there is a right angle gear box also to check. Good luck.

its the drive between the tractor and the deck that i am having trouble with.

I've seen this before. Make sure you have the yoke's in time. The have to be the same. If not it will shear the pin. Also, make sure that the telescoping part of the shaft moves freely.
