Default Picture of the Week for May 23, 2011

Cub Cadet 2182
Owner: Christopher (crittercub)
Location: Wisconsin

Cub Cadet 610 loader, with custom built quick tach mounts, 1440 sides panels cut out for exhaust

I bought this unseen, over the phone from a elderly gentlemen in central Illinois. It had sat in a barn for over 3 years, untouched. A little tinkering, and the Kubota 3 cylinder gas engine, came to life. It purred like a kitten. The loader was an add on that I did. Its a Cub Cadet 610. the only mods to the loader are for the mounts. I can still use the quick tach mount system, and I can run the 60 inch deck with the loader still on it, It only has 774 hours, and I'm the second owner.

Default Dang!

Load capacity? Looks like it is about to tip over forward without any load in the bucket...do you have to put weights on the back?

Great job engineering!! Wow, to be able to run the deck with the loader still on---best of both worlds. Congratulations on the Picture of the Week!

Awesome 2182 Chris! I'd love to own one like it someday! I bet it pays it's dues around the homestead!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
