Cub Cadet 4WD Pictures
I have been asked to share some pictures of the 4WD I built over the past couple years. I have worked most of the bugs out and need to take it back apart and give it a good paint job. That is something I have not been able to pull off, I "good" paint job.
I used 2 Case rear ends with hydraulic motors (high/low range) on each. Turned the front one backwards so the hydraulic hoses pointed back. Made the articulation joint using two bearing hubs from a car. This allows the tractor to both pivot and rotate. Used a motor which runs windows inside a car door connected to the chute rod to turn the chute from inside the cab. Moved the battery under the fender and put an oil cooler under the seat along with the garage door opener attached to the side of the cab. No use getting cold to open the garage door. Put two small fans from inside a computer under the oil cooler to create air flow. The windshield hinges up and is supported by the hood if you need to get to the engine. The hydraulics are plumbed in series to faciliate actual full time 4WD. Was a concern about back pressure on the first pump, but not a problem so far. I will try to get some pictures of the thing in motion when I can get one of the kids here who knows how to run the camera and help upload. Thanks for the interest in this project. My neighbor and I did a lot of sitting, thinking, looking, building, tearing back apart, and building again to get it to come together.

Brian April 1979 1200 Quietline 44A deck 1988 1211 customized into a 1288 with a K301AQS 38C deck and a 1864 54” deck . Snow blades 42" and 54" . Brinly disk, brinly plow a cultivator and a $5 brinly yard rake!

Old thread revived but I don't care, that is one awesome build. How well has it worked for you after this 2 year old post? Rednecks have some Amazing engineering skills. Thanks for sharing.
