Hydro re-install questions
I'm reinstalling the pump and trans axle in the 682/782;
When the 4 bolts mounting the pump to the trans axle came out they appeared to have thread lock on them, correct? and torque to 30fp according to the service manual? Then the 4 bolts thru the frame into the axle let fluid out when removed, anything that needs to go on them before they go back in to help seal or thread lock? and torque to 30fp? Thank you, Vic |

None of them need torqued. Just tighten them up with a rachet or a wrench.
No thread lock necessary. They should all have lock washers on them. As far as sealant, no. I put anti-seize on them. |

I use Permatex #2 on the bolts that go into the oil sump. After I stripped one of my 882's holes with a 3/8 ratchet I also torque them to 30fp as per the manual because I'm not good at judging tightness.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
