Default A Form Meets Function Interlude
After two months of waiting on warm weather I got my wheels painted and new Tru-Powers installed yesterday. Tires are fluid filled and the acorn nuts are stainless.

Very nice! What did you fill the tires with, and how much weight does it add. I've been contemplating filling my tires with liquid as added weight. Thanks, Jason

What fluid do you guys recommend to put in the tires? Unfortunately I don't have tubes in so corrosion may be a problem.

Looks awesome! I am also interested in how you get the fluid into the tire/tube. Are tires something you can do at home with irons or do you need a tire machine?

I know some people take the valve out of the valve stem and fill through that. I'm just wanting to know if there's a recommended fluid when you don't have a tube. I don't want to corrode the rim.

GREAT looking Rims Scott!!

As for the other questions about what to fill them with. I have heard of Windshield Washer Fluid and RV type antifreeze being used in tires, as well as beet juice. From what I understand, all are relatively cheap, non-corrosive and bio-degradable if you suffer a tire puncture.

I have been kicking the idea around to use an old busted air compressor tank or water tank with a hose on the drain to let the water out. with a pipe in the top to put a funnel so you could 3/4 fill the tank with ballast, a ball valve to close that end.

Add air to push the liquid onto tire, that is laying on it's side and bleed air as necessary Wouldn't need much pressure to do this.
