Mule for tiller attachment
I read in Wild Bill's article tilling 101
It states that I need a different mule for the tiller. My question is; can I get any mule and adjust the pulleys to work with the tiller, or do I need a mule just made for a tiller? ole 147 _____________ Anything worth having is worth keeping nice. |

If you have a wideframe with a 44 or 50" deck, you'd need a mule drive without the angled pulleys. Regardless of the deck, you need to put a tensioner on the spring-loaded idler in place of the spring so you can tighten the belt properly.

I don't know 100% sure if it would work but it does have the bolt on the tension pulley that's needed for the tiller.

If you get rid of the spring and add another tensioner bolt, that will work. I'd replace those rusty pulleys, though...they'll tear up a belt really fast.

Cub Cadet dealer, forum sponsors, etc...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
