Get a hack saw blade and cut the pipe a little until you start to see the threads. Don't do to deep or the exhaust will leak around the threads. Get a pointed punch or center punch and work the pipe to the center of the port. I've done it this way with great success.

I believe it's 1" NPT. I doubt you have one of those taps around, and they are not cheap. You can make a crude thread chaser by cutting a slot in the end of a piece of threaded pipe. That's probably clear as mud. I don't have a picture to describe what I'm talking about.

Sorry about the Ebonics from my previous post. I corrected the missed spelled words. I think.
But any way if you can't find a tap use a correct size pipe and back cut a groove like someone had stated but cut it on an angle. I use a wiz cutter. Like a circular saw blade tooth. USE COPIOUS(big word) AMOUT OF LUBE!!!! Good luck!!
