Default Paper items from a cc 682

Last summer I bought a March 1981 CC 682. With it came the owners manuals, and these were inside.

ENJOY !

I like it real good. Looks like it was taken care of. A survivor as they say in the car world. Very cool he kept the literature.

Default Paper items from a CC 682

Here is a photo of the hour meter. The PO couldn't find the original bill of sale; but their parents had bought it brand new from the local dealership.
Here is a newspaper ad giving the price of the NEW 82's. Translated into today's money they were EXPENSIVE ! Good thing they were so well built.
I'm pretty sure it has a Series II Kohler K-17. I have gotten it to fire, and run briefly using a spray bottle of gas. It probably needs a new fuel pump.

I had a KT17 a long time ago. As I recall, the air filter was identical to your, except there was "Series II" under "Twin 17" (although this certainly isn't a definitive way to tell if it's a I or II). However, I found in my notes that spec numbers 24300 and above are Series II.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
