Default Command 15 single vs 16 twin

As the title suggests, is there much difference in power between the Command 15 single and the 16 twin? I imagine it's negligible, unless there is some kind of bonus to have two cylinders over one?

Let's say you have two tractors with exact same transmission just the one has the 15 single and the other the 16 twin. Would there be much difference in capabilities between the two?

Would it be worth upgrading from the 15 to the 16 to have two cylinders?

From my experience a 2cyl engine will use almost 2x the fuel.

As for the command twin 16hp I'm pretty sure it is a derated 18hp which is in fact a derated 20hp.
I've only seen them in toro riders.

As for noticeable power difference? I doubt it maybe a little more grunt at the top end? But it'd be soon forgotten.

Are you thinking about your 2155?
If so 1hp will not make any difference.

My last 1864 i swapped a 28hp command in place of the 18hp. I did notice a significant change in acceleration and top speed.

I figured it would be a negligible upgrade. I saw a 16HP Twin for sale and was wondering if it would make a difference in my 2155. I know the 2165 (which is a Garden Tractor) has the 16HP twin with exact same BDU-10L transmission as mine so I guess it isn't that much a difference...

Not that it really matters but
2165 has a briggs and stratton engine.
Unless there is some thing majorly wrong with your 15hp i'd leave it be.

You're right the 2165 is a B&S I totally glazed over that. So the Command 16 twin I saw wasn't even from a CC. Oh well it's not much of an upgrade anyways so no foul.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
