my my my my my!
I had no idea what I was getting into when I started to replace the wiring harness. I'm getting close though!
What the heck is the yellow square with a dark wire (actually blue) leading to the ignition switch?

I'm pretty sure thats a plug that would be used with an electric lift...check the wide frame diagram, its marked on there.

there is a place for it and the connector looks right... but i couldn't figure out why there would need to be a wire attaching the starter switch to the electric lift switch...

ya got me, but it might be for power only, and the switch might be seperate? I know that add on electric lifts come with a small wire loom, but I have no idea how it all goes together.

If you happen to notice it is coming off of the same wire that provides constant 12v to the coil. When the key is in the 'on' position that connector would have constant 12v going to it. I would say the electric lift connector would connect to that. Just a thought.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
