Default Picture of the Week for August 8, 2011

Cub Cadet 147 and 1872
Owner: Larry (LarryW)
Location: Michigan

Here is Larry's comments:

When I was hunting around searching for information about the 1872 before I bought it I was hoping to find a picture someone had with a IH CC just to compare size too. I never ran into one so I thought I would post my own. Then saw POTW and decided I would enter it. If I dont win, I am curious where to post it. There isnt a show off you cubs thread title that I found. It has a IH CC and my 1872 that is made by MTD. What is CCC? not sure if the 1872 is a CCC?

Thanks
Larry

Congrats on the pic of the Week. CCC stands for Cub Cadet Corporation. That is the company name MTD gave Cub Cadet when they bought it from IH.

Congratulations on Picture of the Week!!! The 147 certainly has a great honor being the first 14hp cub, with mods of it own and your 1872 looks like its ready to aggressively go after any job you throw at it!!! Nice cubs!

Yup, at least something good comes out of Cleveland, OH. , Your 1872 is alot bigger, but I'd have to say the IHCC is built just as good! Great picture for Picture of the week!

Larry, a couple of great looking Cubs. The 1872 looks great. I just picked up a 1572 myself and love it.

Here is the link for showing pics of your Cubs:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
