SLT 1554 no power coming from key switch to starter solenoid
I'm not excactly sure where to look next... My SLT 1554 wasn't starting a few months back so I did the normal troubleshooting. I ended up putting a new starter solenoid on it but it looks like there is a break somewhere between the battery's positive terminal and the starter solenoid...
What I was doing for the past few months (and it still works with no problems) was I bought one of those remote starter switches: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/...AC_SL1500_.jpg I placed one side of the remote starter on the positive battery terminal and the other side on the starter solenoid's connection. I then would turn the key on the mower and press the remote starter at the same time and that would fire up the mower. So I know the problem is somewhere in between. Today I just bought a new keyswitch thinking that this was the issue: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/...L._SL1000_.jpg It was easy enough to pop the old one out and the new one in but it didn't work! So now I'm not sure what exactly to look at next. I know there are a bunch of wires that come out of the starter switch so I'm guessing I need to start looking at schematics and tracing where all that goes? Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks..

The SLT1554 has two different wiring diagrams, depending on the Serial Number range. What is your serial number??

OK, looking at the 2006 Diagram, three things need to be done in order for the engine to roll over:
(A) PTO switch has to be OFF. (B) The Brake Pedal has to be depressed (C) Something has to sit in the seat. Are all of these prerequisites met ??

Thanks for replying and for the suggestions. It gave me the clue.
I had been starting the mower for so long by manually attaching the remote starter to the battery and the starter solenoid that I forgot to connect back the actual connector to the starter solenoid! Once I realized the dumb mistake I connected it back and it worked like a charm. So it definitely was a bad ignition switch. Thanks!
