Default Smoking 16hp

Hello
New member here.
I'm working on my 1641 in this range of serial # below.

{1641 (145-653-100) - Cub Cadet Garden Tractor (SN: 821060 - 880000) }

When I started It this evening it was really smoking.

Where is the best place to buy parts/ Rebuild kit ?

I would suggest you take an aspirin and maybe a short nap.

I have owned several 16 hp Vanguards that smoked and none of them required a rebuild. Might be best for you to figure out what is causing the smoke and report back before all the jingle runs out of your pockets?

I will take that advice.
When I purchased it a few weeks ago it was fine.

It is (freshly rebuilt) was the story.

It sounds great.
I will pull the plugs and take a look.
Also Run a compression check.
I will take the muffler off. and check things out .
I will post a picture of the muffler.
It does not look like it is burning good on both cylinders.

I run compression test.
150psi even both sides.

Right Plug looks normal,
Left Plug Wet. Gas/Oil.

So spark check.
Right side

Left side

I will look when it gets dark.

I think it has not had spark on this side for a while.

Update.
The coils check the same Ohm resistance .
The flywheel is rusty.
I will clean this.
I am going to check the gap.
Does anyone have that info?

The kill wire that attaches to the coils has diodes in it. I've read that if they go bad it can cause spark failure. I had to replace the one on my 1641 because it got pinched in the shroud.

The armature air gap is .008-.012.

If you can spin the engine, just remove the kill wire from both armatures and see of both of them spark.

I just replaced a kill wire because of an open diode and one side wouldn't fire.

Some multimeters can check diode function.

Mike McKown for slowing me down .
And Cannon51 for telling me about the wire.
And Mike for instruction of leaving the wire off
It was that wire.
I swapped the coil side to side
Tested everything.
Blah Blah
Then left the wire off and (Bam)

So 2 more Questions.

#1: Where is the best place to buy this wire?

Also there was nothing hooked to it on the outside of the engine.

#2: Does it have to be hooked in the wiring?
