I think it's the price that's being critiqued not the blades. I find much less expensive options work well (i.e.. don't exhibit the problems listed for regular blades) so I haven't tried them, therefore I must decline any recommendation for or against.

I tried a set, just my 2 cents but I think Gator blades work better.

I agree with Sam Mac. The Meg-mo's work good on most grass types. But they were not good on other types. I went back to Gators for my 54 in deck. I have a set of Meg-mo's that are looking for a good home.

Gator blades work good IF you have a deck with a straight out all metal chute like most earlier CC's but if your deck has a rubber chute protector that's held down with a spring the problem I had was blowback on top of the deck that quickly clogged the vents around the spindles and I mean quickly. I finally went back to conventional blades. The gator blades are sitting on a shelf here somewhere.

rubber chute protector................that's the first thing to get tossed in the trash. I even yanked the one off of my new Scag. Of course I've been known to remove a few safety switches also.
