Changed oil in cub
Got about sick and tired of sitting around the last two days and doing nothing. So I did something easy and changed the oil and filter in the cub today. It was very much overdue.
Cleaned out the air filter oil (overdue) and changed the gear box fluid. Gear box had it's share of water in it. From what I've read, this is the norm with most of them. Looks like a set of plugs and wires wouldn't hurt either.

Todd,
Your like me. I like to get the fluids changed in a new unit too. And that Cub needed some attention all right. Have you thought about Seafoam or something to see if it would help the engine? Yep good to see your back in the shop! Thanks for taking and posting the pictures of your work on the Cub. Reminds me I need to change oil in the WD I am working on too. Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
