Picture of the Week: December 28, 2014
This weeks submission is sent to us by local member Mark Sumler aka Cubfan. Mark comments "I wish I had some before pics but they were lost in my old computer. I have went through the ole girl from top to bottom and fixed, repaired or replaced anything it needed. It has the tranny supports, 10" wheels with custom off set and the inside wheels have the valve stems on the inside, tires have tubes and washer fluid in them, I wanted a bigger battery so I made a box on the rear for the over size battery. I added a tach to the dash, the headlight rings are from a 147, the grille was NOS I got off ebay, I made the front bumper out of two that I had laying around, but I had to get an extra carriage mount to make it work and fit properly. The front end is completely rebuilt, everything works as it should, just a nice ole machine. She runs like a top, very seldom do I have to use the choke. She's seen her last days of mowing duty, hope y'all like the pics." Mark has submitted additional pictures that will be featured in the following post below. Thanks for the submission Mark!!!

Beautiful tractor. I have one concern though. The way you have the oil lines to the filter making a tight 180 is just asking for trouble. That would tend to restrict the oil flow. I suggest you consider something like the fittings shown here. http://www.summitracing.com/search/b...se-ends?page=4

Nicely done.
I really like the custom bumper. Do even need to decouple the brakes and use them for turning ? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
