newbe just bought a 85 1450
Hi all
needed a tractor ,Purchased one near me . Fellow told me its a 1985 1450 No books for it .How do i tell the year? I have the serial number for it and the deck. Is there a search i can do to get the year. I found it to be kind of jerky when ingageing the hydro drive. Is there a fix for that! also found a filter on some unit towards the back. No numbers on it . And where do i check the fluid that is being run through this filter. Wher do i buy the filter and fluid. Where is the drain plug and filler plug. Pictures would help!! I have lots more questions . Hope theres lots of help here , I need it!!!

First, welcome to our Forum.........
The model 1450 was produced between 10/74 to 09/79. A chassis Serial Number would identify the month and year of production. The "jerky action" of the hydro can be a number of things. I would start by examining the linkages from the Hydro Handle all the way back to the Hydro Unit itself and see if there is any slop and worn parts. There is a lot of information in our Technical Library. You may want to look through it. Parts are available from your local Cub Cadet Dealer and our Fine Sponsors listed in the boxes at the top of the page.
