If the valves are made by Kohler, they are the correct valves. What does them not being NOS have anything to do with anything???

Stens valves are fine.

4000 RPM motor huh..... You buying a flywheel?? Or are you going to take your chances on the cast one exploding between your legs?

Unless your original valves are burnt or bent, just do a valve job on them and you will be fine.

If you have to replace them, Stens are fine.

I assume you wll be running a gov., so stock flywheel will be fine at 4000 rpm. You do need a way to check that though.

If you are building your first puller, I promise you, stock motor will be fine. Mill the head .040 or .050 for some compression. tune the carb, set the timing and your good to go.

You won't know if the other pullers are following the rules till you have pulled awhile.

The key to winning in stock is tires, weight, gears and reading the track.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
