CC 1250 Issues
Been trying to get my 1250 running for the last week. Was mowing with it and it started running rough, in high throttle. Have tried another carb, tank filter, new gas, new plug, new points (has good spark), and new coil. Still runs rough, and will only run for short time.........
Any suggestions?

Did you try changing each item out one at a time? It still sounds like a carb issue, dirt possibly or stuck float? Just a couple of ideas, I hate trouble shooting, LOL.

How about plug wire? I've had more than one that the end fit loosely on the end of the plug, and it would misfire. Squeeze it a bit with pliers if it's loose.

What do you mean short time? Runs rough for a short time or stops running after a short time? If stops running it could be coil or exhaust valve sticking.

The carb was leaking, so I adjusted the float, now its not leaking and seems to have plenty of fuel in it. And I hate trouble shooting, also!

Yes, I do remember it being very easy to pull of, very loose. Will have to try that!

It will run rough for a couple seconds....then die. Already have tried a new coil, but might look into the valve.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
