Flashing oil indicator.
My CC FMZ50 has a 22hp Kawasaki v-twin engine. A message came up indicating that I required an oil change, which I carried out, I also replaced the oil filter.
However, I now notice that when I startup for the first minute or so the oil light will flash every 2\3 seconds, then stops. I just need to know if all is OK. Thank you in anticipation. |

I think you need to reset the service reminder. Sorry but I do not know how to do this.

First, welcome to OCC.....
My first question to you is, when changing the Oil, did you use the Recommended oil as specified by Cub Cadet and use the correct Cub Cadet Oil Filter...???

I think your best bet would be to contact a dealer and see what they say, they might even be able to talk you through resetting the oil life system.
I did a quick search and found some info on this subject. It would appear that the light blinking is just an oil change reminder and that there is no reset for it but it will reset itself and stop blinking after 3-5hrs of runtime. I would still contact a dealer to confirm.

The engine in your FMZ50, according to Cub Cadet, is a Kohler SV715-0019. Thus one should be using a Kohler Oil Filter - #12-050-01-S.
I have to agree with the others, it sounds like all you need to do is reset that "Service Reminder" to get that light to go out. I "think" you would be fine to run the mower until you can find out how that is accomplished. I have looked through the Kohler and Cub Cadet sites to see how to do this. Haven't found it yet.

I have to hope that it is the sensor, I would have imagined it would have continued to flash if it was an pressure problem. I will give it a run out the next day or so, I'll let you know how things go. Thank you for the PDFs, appreciated. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
