ID component/Suggestions 1250 Hydrostatic
Greetings friends, I have a 1250 Hydrostatic model. I am having an issue with the PTO turning on.(and boy is my grass getting long.) I ordered a new switch so maybe that will resolve my issue. I was just curious if anyone had any suggestions. I am also unsure what the component is in the picture. I thought it was a fuse but now it seems like button to me. I see the wiring for the PTO toggle switch has wiring running to it. In the past i have had issues with the tractor not turning on, which I assume was the interlock with the PTO switch. I was able to get the tractor going by just giving the switch a little jiggle/turning it on and off, if that was even what "fixed it" I am also curious if anyone knows if this tractor has any other interlock like with the seat needing weight on it. I bought it off a coworker, he warned me that the blades will still go if you get off. I am curious if this is something he did or the mower is so old they didn't integrate that type of interlock in. I think I'm posting this in the right thread, forgive me if its not. Any suggestions and advice and knowledge you can impart would be appreciated

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
