Default 38 Inch Deck Overall Width?

Anyone know the overall width of the 38 inch mowing deck used on the 109 IH Cub Cadet? Trying to fit the tractor and deck through a basement door to get it out of the weather.

Don’t have a deck yet, but considering one. Any tips to lookout for when buying one of these decks?

Any sage info/advice is much appreciated.

Well the easiest way to measure is with a tape measure across the deck.
If you are talking a normal walk through door they are max 36"
if the deck is off the tractor it will fit through any door easily standing it on its side.
Now getting the tractor through the door is a whole different ball game.
But I'd be more concerned getting it down the basement steps!
Might be easier to get a small portable outside tarp shed.
Shelter logic at tractor supply makes nice ones inexpensively

Leaving a tractor outside, under a tarp is not a good idea.

you can add about 3 inches roughly to the cut width for the overall width
to be in the ballpark ! I also wouldn't recommend covering with a tarp outside as it just traps moisture !

Pictured is the underneath of QA 38". The cutting width is 38" tip to tip of the outer blades.
You can get a rough idea of the total width with overhang.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
