Cyclops dual spool valve?
I've looked but can't find this info, so here's the question did the cyclops 2284 have a front hydrolic option if so what value was used?

Cyclops dual spool valve?
I did 3 restorations a few years ago... 2 - 1641's and an 1864 adding dual hydraulics to all of them. The valves are stacked and bolted together with a special bushing and 0 rings between them. You can have up to 3 spool valves.
The plastic dash panel is easily cut with a fine tooth saw to accommodate the the extra valve lever. I was able to easily find the valves and hoses on ebay. For each tractor, I had to have 2 short pieces of extra hydraulic line made up with jic connectors to connect to the extra lift cylinder hoses to reach the couplings at the front of the tractor. Not too expensive...NAPA auto did them. You will need to bend the steel tubing that connects to the upper spool valve to make it fit properly. The additional valve mounted above the regular lift valve makes the connection higher so a slight offset will be needed to make the connection. Two bends in the horizontal section of tubing across the front of the dash tower near the steering assembly need to be made to raise it about an inch or so to reach the top of the valve. This would probably be a good time to check the small 0-rings on the ends of the tubing pieces and maybe even replace the 0 rings inside the valves while you have things apart. Also a good time to change the hydraulic fluid and filter if needed. |

You will need these O rings and fitting as well to add a valve.
I added one to my 2086 last winter so I can run a front hydraulic angle blade. I have these parts available. |

Cyclops dual spool valve?
I was able to take some pictures of the valves and lines on my 1864 after mowing today. I wish I had taken more pictures when I restored the tractor! Stacking the valves was pretty easy however attaching the hydraulic lines to the spool valves was not.
The last picture is a shows a side panel pin replacement. I threaded the hole in the side panel with a 5/16" tap. Then I used a plastic bushing with an aluminum screw. I drilled a hole in the side of it so I could use a hairpin to secure the panel when installed on the tractor. Note the stainless steel strainer that I installed when restoring the 1864. I must say it really works to keep the engine clean and free of debris. Easy to blow off with compressed air after mowing! Hope some of these pictures help. |
