LT1045 Reverse safety not working
Hi, I have a 2008 LT1045 and I couldn't be happier with it. However the other day the reverse cutoff safety option stopped working. I always have it on the overide anyway (ie key on Yellow and button pressed) but I noticed that when I have the key on green, the feature that shuts the blades off isn't working. I bought it last year so it's still under warranty but figured I'd mention on here to see if anyone had the same issue. I'm an auto mechanic so I'd fix it myself but since it's under warranty I'll bring it in. It has about 30 hours on it so far and haven't had a problem yet.

Take it in while it's under warranty. Make sure you've mowed with it before you take it in sometimes around here they can be backed up during the summer months. That way your grass will not be to high when you get it back. |

There is a switch on the lever where it attaches to the trans with a couple wires. Those wires get broke real easy because they usually get rubbed by a big return spring.
Mine are cut but I dont need the reverse safty. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
