1863 Hydro Leak
I finally got the 1863 home from my sons house to address the hydro leak. I used it the last few months of last year with it leaking, kept a piece of cardboard under it in his garage. It would leave a bout a 4 inch oil stain on the cardboard every week. I took another mower over there this year and am trying to figure out how to go about this. I had planed to remove the fender pan, pressure wash the whole thing, reinstall the pan, drive it and see where the leak was the fix whatever it was. I'm thinking it is the front seal but a leak can spread oil a lot of different places. Just want to check with you to see if this is the most efficient way to proceed.

I've seen worse. What is the knob for on the left, is that the release so that you can push it?

I found the leak. It was where the red pin is. I put a wrench on it and it felt loose. I removed it, cleaned the oring and reinstalled it. I ran the engine and it's not leaking now. I don't even know what this block does but I feel like this was about as lucky as I could have been. Now I need to top off the fluid and put it back together.

Glad you found your leak. There are times one get lucky and it is so simple. One note keep that whole area clean. The heat can disapate much easier.
