Red face Lurker/newbie and Proud

Hello Everyone, as you may have guessed by my username I'm in/from/native Eastern Oregonian,,,,,,

a Couple of months ago my very old wizard rider gave up the ghost on me,,, I mentioned it at work and a co-worker said his brother in-law had an old rider for sale,,, needless to say I picked it up, a nice running 128 (wide) with a 52" ?? mower deck (uses three 17" blades) for a whopping $500 photos will prove $$ value

a month later on craigslist i picked up a 122 (narrow) with front blade and ?? mower deck (uses 2 small and center large blade) again $500 and it still has the cover for the hole to the timing mark!! Wheel weights included! I think I will use this one for the snow, already have the tire chains ready to put on,, No more walking behind a snow blower !

So I have ordered the tuneup kits for both,,Kohler K301A series engines and hopefully will have time to wash them and do tune ups this weekend..

The photos are just as I purchased them,,no work on them yet,, they both run at the touch of a choke and key!! And the Grand kids love them !

Hello and welcome! The 128 has a 50" deck, probably a 50A deck should be a serial# tag on it. Good looking tractors! The 122 probably has a 38A deck, that's what it sounds like. Good you have chains, you may wanna load the tires with washer fluid to add weight in addition to the wheel weights. It's cool the grand kids like them! Good to get them started early in the hobby/addiction! Lol you have any questions ask away, lots of friendly helpful folks here! Oh if their running good, don't monkey with them other than a new spark plug and oil change and a new air filter. If you have fuel filters change them too.

Very nice tractors. Just noticed the 122 has got some options. Rear lift, spring assist, and creeper. Welcome!

Nice looking tractors.

Am I correct in thinking that there is a foot pedal on each side of your 122? And is there a strengthener welded to the lift arm or is that an illusion?

Good eye Mark. I'm wondering why there are 2 pedals with internal brakes?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
