HDS 2155 issues
Hello, all, so does anyone have a repair manual or a wireing diagram for the hds 2155?
problems........ ok, runs great, charges, hydro is perfect. The PTO wont turn on, fuses are fine and I tried a new switch and that did not work......Also the seat switch was disconected. if i touch those 2 wires together while running and I engage the PTO button, the tractor dies........weird........ Not sure where to turn at this point.

Update
ok so I reconnected the wires on the seat and when you pull the pto button and get up shuts tractor off. So the button is working I assume. So I hooked up 2 wires to the pto and connected to battery while tractor running and the pto goes on and spins blades no problem. So the pto works too !!! Tried new pto switch same thing. Fuses are good!! Hmmmm

Somewhere I have wiring diagrams for a 2185, which is probably similar. The wiring on these is pretty complicated compared to the earlier ones. There's all kinds of switches and relays and crap to go haywire. I think the wiring diagram has separate sub-diagrams for PTO circuit troubleshooting, due to the complexity...

Air gap out of spec? Or are the new ones not adjustable? I can't remember. Have you measured the resistance of the clutch coil itself to determine whether or not it's actually good?

hmmmmm
well the PTO works, I wired it to 12v with the motor running and the PTO works great......Its just not engageing with the PTO switch, I did notice that the key switch connector is "glued" on to the key switch and once and awhile you have to jiggle the key to engage the starter......I need to get the plug off and put some spade connectors on it next to rule out bad switch. Here is the thing, there is 12v going to the 2 wires on the pto which is correct. when you pull the PTO switch on, the relay is supposed to turn the blue wire to a ground which then turns the pto on..........Mine is just keeping the 12v no matter the setting.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
