Tires and Wheels
I was so impressed with earlier response I thought I'd try another question. As stated earlier I'm building a puller replica for my great nephew. Began with a very nice 127. Looking for a good deal on aluminum wheels and tires. Will the 12-12-26 clear the rear fenders without modification? Or do I need the 10.5-23-12? Also what offset for each do I need with the 127's external disc brakes? Thanks

there are allot of 26x12x12's out there of different brands most will have clearance problems. Cheng Chins are the smallest from what I've noticed and would probably clear. you would need a 4x8 offset . Super Cub has Douglass rims that are designed to clear disk brakes with a 4x8 offset.
23x10.5x12 would be the easiest and cheaper route. you could use steel rims. |

We use Vogel manufacturing aluminum rims on our puller and there a nice looking rim.You will need 4x8 offset.Just for your information if you want a bigger tire but cant use the 26x12x12 carlilse tire makes a 24x12x12 called a AT101.

ask them if their rims will clear external brakes before you buy them.

Great advice, I just talked to them and the 10.5's will not clear external disc brakes. However their 12x12's 4-8 spacing will clear the brakes but they were uncertain if the 4 in backspace would clear the underseat box on the 127 fenders. Gotta run by the house at lunch and measure. Assured me they had a 26 TT tire that would clear vertically.

you could always space it out with wheel spacers if you only need a little bit on each side.

Well my less than exact measuring techniques reveal I have 4 1/16 in clearance on eacc side. Will the Vogel 4/8 12 in wheel and tire clear ok with 1/4 in spacers? Wonder if the tires are wider than the wheel and they may still rub.

Yes the tire will be a little wider than the wheel.

I think you'll probably need the 1/2 in spacers

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
