Wiki
I would like to suggest the creation of a wiki forum organized by tractor series, to make the finding of information on a particular tractor easier. In contrast to the technical library section, the wiki forum would contain a broader spectrum of topics. Things like what to look for before buying, what to look for after buying, equivalent part numbers for parts NLA, information on mods specific to that series, a photos thread where users could post images of their tractors and so on. Threads from the technical library section could also be linked here. An example forum structure would be:
-Wiki ---QuietLine Series(1250,1450,1650) -----Buyer's Guide -----Parts (with part numbers and sources for NLA equivalents) -----Photo library -----Kohler - K Series Ignition Circuit (link from tech library) -----Kohler K Series Point Gap Timing Procedure (link from tech library) -----Manual - Kohler K Series Service Manual (link from tech library) -----Manual - Operators Q/L Series(link from tech library) -----Quietline Motor Rail Modification(link from tech library) -----Wiring Diagrams - WF(link from tech library) -----Steering Column Rebuild(link from OCC FAQ) The above is not meant to be all inclusive, just an example. Right now there is a lot of useful information scattered everywhere, some in the tech library, some in user posts, some in the FAQ, and while I've had good luck just searching, I think owners of 3 digit model numbers may not be so lucky since the search excludes anything shorter than 3 characters. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
